Rapid Prototyping

A quick, easy, and cost effective way of turning napkin sketches into tangible products.

Accelerate the Product Design Process

Using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software files, Mina Product's rapid prototyping services can create physical models using 3D Printing as a cost effective solution with a quick turnaround. Depending on part complexity, we can help design and print your prototype in as little as 3 days.

Using additive manufacturing technologies such as SLA, Polyjet, and FDM, gives us the freedom to select the best prototyping process for each project.

We specialize in assisting our clients with developing new products, as well as designing for manufacturability.

RAPID PROTOTYPING IS THE PROCESS BY WHICH DEVELOPERS CREATE A DOWNSIZED 3D MODEL OR PROTOTYPE OF A FUTURE PRODUCT

Rapid Prototyping for Product Development

Test Your Ideas, Print Your Prototype

By taking advantage of our rapid prototyping services, you can quickly print and review the look and feel of your product. 3D printing your prototype not only saves time and money, but also helps you decide on design revisions. When you have a physical prototype in hand, you can work to eliminate ambiguities and inaccuracies.

Prototyping a product allows you to:
  • Gather more accurate requirements that reduce rework later in the development cycle.
  • Technically understand the problem by examining a functional prototype so that you can identify and address both the foreseen and unforeseen technical challenges.
  • Settle conflicts concerning difference of opinions by helping your team to better understand the product.

Prototype Design and Production

As mentioned above, prototype development helps address important issues. With a physical prototype you can test not only the fit, function, and form of your product, but also material performance, tolerances, and marketability.

Various Prototypes:

Mock up: This is the the simplest representation of a desired product or component. Mock up prototypes, handcrafted or 3D, provide at least part of the functionality and allow for testing of a design. This in turn provides a basis for refinement of individual concepts. If you're creating a mock up, the prototype is typically not completely functional or accurate.

Functional prototype: Process where tight tolerances in refined tooling are used to create dimensionally accurate parts. In the medical field this process is undergone early in development to ensure product viability.

Working prototype
:
This prototype clearly demonstrates the value of the product. These are often used to develop methods for testing functionality and/or design refinement. A working prototype may be used for review of the final design, aesthetic evaluation, and functionality. With a working model of your product or concept,  you may begin to finalize materials and start developing molding samples.
